Frequently Asked Questions

Tracking devices and smartphones have a GPS receiver. It obtains signals from a number of stationary satellites positioned in earth’s orbit, and the combination of these signals will allow the device to determine its location in terms of latitude and longitude coordinates. The device send these coordinates, along with the unique device identifier, to the Btracking server through a wireless network, and this information is used to plot the device’s location on the Btracking Mapping Platform.

Prices vary. Btracking offers high quality tracking devices, tested and vetted to work on our tracking system. Trackers have varying capabilities to meet all tracking situations. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

If at any time your GPS device fails to track, we will correct the issue or replace the device at our expense, as long as you have been a continuous customer (upon return of tracker; shipping costs not refundable; asset trackers have a one year warranty including battery)

No. Btracking provides its own wireless data plans for tracking vehicles and assets around the globe. This is included in our monthly rate.

Yes. Use geofences or points of interest and alerts. Geofences are simply areas or zones you create (draw) on the mapping portal, and a point of interest (POI) is a point on the map with a buffer area around it the size of which you may define, in essence also creating a geofence. Geofences can also be directly coded into many tracking devices, and can be assigned automatically. For example, if you draw a geofence around your garage and set an alert, when a device you track enters or leaves the garage you can receive an email, SMS text, or a notification on the portal letting you know. Geofences can also be drawn on a route to let you know when a vehicles strays too far from that route. Geofences are ideal for sales territories, or to let you know when vehicles/persons arrive/depart a frequented area.

Yes. Set up your work schedule. We'll create an alert so you'll know whenever the vehicle moves outside those hours. Alerts can be seen on the mapping platform and/or sent via email or SMS text message.

The plug in tracking device plugs into the OBD port located at the bottom of the dashboard, next to the steering column, often next to the park brake. If you look down, you can see it. The plug in tracker can be concealed by using a wire harness. Hardwired trackers can be placed behind the dashboard, in the glove box, or in other discrete locations around the vehicle. The choice is yours. If the device stops tracking, or is unplugged, you will know. In our experience, the best approach, and greatest benefits, most often derive from working together with your drivers. Btracking lets you plan better routes, save fuel, and help your employees be better, safer drivers.

GPS trackers with accelerometers and access to the vehicle's diagnostics provide a wealth of data beyond positioning. For example, many alerts are developed based on algorithms such as accelerating or braking beyond a set parameter. Btracking encourages its clients to discuss their requirements with your representative to make sure alerts and reports match your requirements.

By default Apple only "trusts" apps from the iStore. you eill need to do the following to install the Btracking app: When you first open an enterprise app you've manually installed, you see a notification that the developer of the app isn't trusted on your device. You can dismiss this message but you can't open the app. After dismissing this message you can establish trust for this app developer. Tap Settings > General > Profiles or Profiles & Device Management. You then see a a profile for the developer under the "Enterprise App" heading. Tap the profile to establish trust for this developer. You're then prompted to confirm your choice. Once you trust this profile, you can manually install other apps from the same developer and open them immediately. This developer remains trusted until you use the Delete App button to remove all apps from the developer. An Internet connection is required to verify the app developer's certificate when establishing trust. If you're behind a firewall, make sure it's configured to allow connections to https://ppq.apple.com. If you aren't connected to the Internet when you trust an app, the device displays "Not Verified" instead. In order to use the app, you need to connect to the Internet, and tap the Verify App button.

Data roaming rates are determined by your wireless carrier. There is no incremental or special Btracking fee.
